The Foundation favours organizations and projects that make an innovative and sustainable contribution to the development of individuals and communities. The eligible fields of activity are education, community support, healthcare, and arts and culture.

Eligible organizations

Under the Income Tax Act, the Foundation can only make donations to charities registered with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).

It should be noted that a non-profit organization is not necessarily a charity.

Eligible applications

Seeking to accompany our partner organizations in their development, we encourage donations that support their mission, particularly in the community sector.

We also donate to innovative projects that are promising for the community, with diversified funding to ensure their sustainability, and where the Foundation’s support can provide leverage.

During major fundraising campaigns, we give targeted donations, in accordance with the Foundation’s values and its philanthropic interests in each field of intervention.

Important : In the area of Community Support, we do no longer accept proposals linked to major fundraising campaigns, as we whish to pursue partnerships with a diversity of actors working in various community sectors. We continue to favour mission-based support for community organizations.

Evaluation criteria

Every application is evaluated according to the following criteria:

  • The compatibility of the organization or the project with the Foundation’s mission
  • The scope of the organization or the project in the community

For more information on the types of projects accepted in each sector supported by the Federation, see the Fields of intervention section.
